Tim Paige is an Actor and Director based in naarm/Melbourne, Australia.
His directorial work will be on show later in the year when he takes the helm on Tamburlaine for Bell Shakespeare’s Play in a Day series in Melbourne. Tim was most recently seen on stage in December as Santa in A Very Naughty Christmas at The Alex Theatre.
Tim is an International Fellow of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and has worked at some of Australia’s largest theatre companies including Bell Shakespeare (most recently as the director of Timon of Athens - PIAD), Pop Up Globe and Melbourne Theatre Company, where he Assistant Directed As You Like It alongside Simon Phillips. He was the Resident Director for Pop Up Globe on their Sydney and Melbourne seasons. For PUG Tim also Assistant Directed Around The Globe in 60 Minutes for the Melbourne season and travelled to New Zealand where he Assistant Directed The Comedy of Errors, alongside Dr Miles Gregory. Whilst at PUG Tim appeared in seven productions across the Melbourne and Sydney seasons as an understudy. Tim also toured in various productions with Essential Theatre and recently appeared in their immersive theatre piece The Dream Laboratory.
2023 saw Tim direct the world premiere of Villainy - The Musical and appear as Michael in Arden of Faversham for Bell Shakespeare’s Play in a Day series.
Tim’s latest screen work includes the Cinèfest Oz official selection short The Hateful Date, which also featured on Junkee. Tim has performed live with Russell Morris, featuring as the titular character from the Aria award winning album Sharkmouth. Tim’s Directorial debut, the new Australian work ‘Billy Thorpe and Leigh’ was described as a 'touching chamber musical' by Theatre People and a 'charming production' by Stage Whispers. He has a passion for text, having written and performed his one man show As Long As I'm Singing - The Life and Songs of Bobby Darin at the Festival of Voices in Hobart. Tim is a multi-skilled artist having trained at the Victorian College of the Arts, The Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music and David Butler Studios.
